From a study circle to a research institute.
Four years, four turning points. This is how Inkspire actually got here, not a polished origin myth, the real sequence.

Two mentors, one idea
Inkspire began not as a company, but as an idea. Two MRes graduates, freshly finished with their own research degrees, started a small mentoring circle for the university fellows around them: no formal structure, no fees, just two people who understood exactly how hard the transition into independent research is, and wanted to make it less hard for the students behind them.
- 2023
From a circle of friends to an agency
Word travels fast in a university. Within a year, the circle had grown well past the original group of fellows, students who had never met the two founders were asking for the same kind of help. What had worked informally between friends needed structure to work for strangers: Inkspire brought on its first dedicated staff for specific tasks, and moved from an ad hoc favour into a functioning freelance research mentoring agency.
- 2024
The first formal partnership
By 2024, Inkspire's work had a track record institutions could point to. That year brought its first formal partnership with an education consultancy, and with it, the first Memoranda of Understanding, the moment Inkspire's mentorship stopped being arranged student to student and started being something an organisation could commission and rely on.
- 2025
New leadership, a wider vision
In 2025, Inkspire was acquired by its current leadership, who saw in it something larger than a freelance agency: the foundation of a formal, global research mentorship institute. The Six Stage Research Integrity Framework, the institutional partnerships model, and the reach across three continents the site describes today all trace back to that acquisition, a deliberate decision to build the original idea into something durable.

A Prime Research Mentorship Institute.
The same founding conviction from 2022 now runs at a different scale: a senior panel spanning twelve core disciplines, a wider team reaching over fifty, and students and mentors across three continents, all governed by one Six Stage Research Integrity Framework. The idea did not change. What it can reach did.
