Every programme runs on the same six stages, at a depth matched to the tier. Here is what actually happens at each one.
Pre Engagement Intake
Discovery call. We understand your field, your institution, your timeline, and your specific challenge before any work begins.
Nothing starts before intake. Your mentor needs to know what your institution actually requires, not a generic assumption of what a thesis or paper looks like, because requirements vary by department, supervisor, and country. We also confirm what stage you are genuinely at: students sometimes believe they need a full literature review when the real blocker is an unclear research question. Intake exists to catch that before it costs you weeks.
Research Design & Proposal
Title development, research questions, epistemological framework. A proposal your supervisor will approve and your committee will respect.
A proposal is not a formality, it is the structural wall of the entire project. We work through title, research questions, and the epistemological position underneath them (what counts as evidence, and why) until the proposal can survive a genuinely critical read. This is the stage most services skip or rush. We do not, because every later chapter inherits whatever precision or vagueness exists here.
Literature Review & Synthesis
Systematic or narrative review, critically positioned and rigorously sourced. Not merely summarised, but argued.
A literature review that lists what other researchers said is not yet a literature review, it is an annotated bibliography. We build the review as an argument: where the field agrees, where it genuinely disagrees, and precisely where your research sits inside that disagreement. Sourcing is checked for currency and credibility, and every claim is traceable to a specific citation, not a general impression of "the literature."
Methodology & Data Collection
Quantitative, qualitative, or mixed. Every methodological choice is justified, documented, and defensible to an examiner.
Every methodological decision, sample size, instrument choice, coding approach, statistical test, is documented with its justification, not just its description. An examiner does not ask what you did. They ask why you did it that way instead of the alternative. We prepare the methodology chapter to answer that question before it is asked.
Analysis & Academic Writing
From raw findings to publication quality argument. Analytical depth, academic register, and structural clarity, chapter by chapter.
Raw findings are not a result, they are a starting point. This stage turns data into argument: what the findings actually mean, what they do not mean, and how they connect back to the research question set in stage two. We work chapter by chapter, checking academic register and structural clarity at each pass rather than leaving it to a single edit at the end.
Submission, Publication & Defence
Editorial polish, journal submission preparation, mock viva, and examiner facing defence strategy. The work ends at the degree, not before.
The framework does not end at submission. For PhD candidates, this stage includes structured mock viva sessions with examiner style questioning, so the real defence is not the first time you have been asked the hard question. For those pursuing publication, we help identify realistic journal targets and prepare the manuscript to that venue's standard.
